Nobu, Las Vegas: More Than "Sushi"- Japan Meets Peru at this Incredible Restaurant

Delicious Sushi Tasting at Nobu, Las Vegas
Delicious Sushi Tasting at Nobu, Las Vegas

Cost: $$$$

Description:  There are currently three Nobu's in Las Vegas (at Paris, Caesar's, and Virgin Hotel- formerly Hard Rock). We've been to Nobu several times and it's always been a great meal. While the ambiance doesn't always meet the price tag, you'll LOVE the fresh sushi and innovative dishes by Chef Nobu Matsuhisa. This isn't your average "sushi" experience. It's a blend of Japanese dishes with Peruvian ingredients, which makes for a surprising and delicious meal. Every dish is a masterpiece, from the renowned Black Cod Miso to the velvety Nobu-style sashimi (the toro, oh my god, the toro), creating a transcendent dining experience (that's more than sushi) in the heart of the vibrant Las Vegas Strip.

Deals: We love the Omakase tasting menu. It's a great way to get a sense of what Nobu offers (the signature will cost you $175 per person, while another Paris option will set you back $315 per person and everyone must participate). Nobu used to have deals for a multi-course meal on Travelzoo and Groupon, however, I haven't seen this for quite some time. It's worth checking before you make a reservation.

Tips & Hacks:   Save up and go for the Omakase menu. It's the way this SHOULD be done so you can try the best Nobu has to offer. If you're stopping by and want a bite, head straight to the bar. We had NO reservations after a New Year's Eve party at Caesar's Palace and were able to snag two seats at the bar for our meal.

Dining: The menu slightly varies depending on the time of year and Nobu location. Unless you choose the vegetarian option for Omakase, it usually includes the signature Black Cod with Miso (the standard tasting menu is 3 cold dishes, 3 hot dishes, and dessert).

Don’t Miss:  If you love black cod, try the signature Black Cod with Miso. But our favorite is the toro (tuna belly). The quality of that fish melts in your mouth and is like nothing I've ever had before. It's incredible and a must-try in my book.

Skip It:  We've had great desserts there, don't get me wrong, but unless you're getting it as part of the Omakase menu, skip it. Spend that money on additional small bites, which Nobu excels at, rather than desserts that don't have the same flair.
