Description:  Lineage is a farm-to-table hidden gem in the Shops at Wailea not to be missed.

Chef Emmanuel Eng fuses Hawaiian cuisine with Asian flavors in this family-style restaurant with seasonal menus made for sharing, or, in my case, to be devoured by one diner.

When you dine at Lineage, even solo, you never feel like you are by yourself – you feel like family. Every member of the staff is so welcoming, you feel the aloha spirit.

The tenants of Eat-Drink-Talk

Story are felt from walking up to the host stand to leaving with a very full belly.

I never miss an opportunity to dine at Lineage when I visit Maui. I love sitting at the bar because their cocktails are works of art!

Cost: $$$

Deals: Lineage does not offer any special discounts, but bring your whole group and enjoy everything family-style!

Tips & Hacks:  Since this restaurant does not have an ocean view, make your dinner reservation for after sunset. They stay open late for Maui standards so a 7:30 dinner reservation lets you view the “show” from a nearby bar (I recommend the Lobby Bar at the Four Seasons or the

Lehua Lounge at the Andaz), with plenty of time to get to dinner. Also, make sure to get a

reservation! It is not a huge restaurant and fills up quickly during the busy season.

Dining: The seasonally curated menus (with a few that stay year-long) incorporate locally

sourced ingredients with traditions of the past. The dishes are meant to be served family-style, reminiscent of the days when families were not too busy to sit down together to enjoy a meal and tell stories of the day. Favorites include Chrispy Shrimp & Scallop Croquettes, Aji Tamago, Korean Fried Chicken with all of the fixings, and Wagyu Kalbi Short Rib. Also, make sure to save room for dessert!

Don’t Miss:  The Waygu Kalbi Short Rib is to die for. The meat is so tender, the dipping sauce is perfectly balanced, the bone marrow in the garlic rice is so decadent – it is truly worth the

splurge!

Meh, Skip it:  The Garlic Szechuan Noodles are delicious, don’t get me wrong, but there are

more exciting noodle dishes on the menu – the Cantonese Lobster Noodles and the Lapa’au

Oyster Mushroom & Vegetable “Birds Nest” are so much more unique and flavorful.

The next time you are on Maui, make sure to Eat-Drink-Talk Story at Lineage at the Shops at

Wailea!
